CONFIDENTIALITY

The owner or tenant of a building to which an EPC and its report relate are free to disclose them to anyone, as are those acting at the time on behalf of the owner or tenant. Everyone else must keep them confidential, except as permitted by the regulations. Indeed, unlawful disclosure is an offence punishable by a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale (currently £5,000).
